Shenandoah National Park // Cross-Country Road Trip Pt. 3

Saying goodbye to my family in Maryland was heartbreaking. Both my sister and I had an ugly-cry session, and I had the hardest time letting my littlest nephew go. But I couldn't put it off forever... So after as much stalling as my dad could handle, he and I set off across the country. With 2,500 miles of road ahead of us, we settled in with some good tunes, pre-packed snacks- thanks to my sister, and a camera- fully charged and ready to go.

The first spot on my road trip agenda was Shenandoah National Park. I hadn't been able to visit this park during my year and a half stay in Maryland, and it was a must-see before I headed out west. So my dad and I detoured off the main road and took Skyline Drive through the middle of the park.

It was stunning and such a breath of fresh air. We rolled the windows down and stopped at almost every look-out point to make sure we took in the best views the park had to offer. I spent more money than I had planned to at one of the park gift shops, but I don't regret it, at all. Near the end of our drive it started to rain which caused a thick mist to hover just above the ground. It was over before I was able to get a decent picture, but definitely one of my favorite memories.

Spotted- a hiker on the Appalachian Trail.

Pt. 1 // 2

Have you ever been to Shenandoah National Park? What is one park that is near the top of your must-see list?

P.S. I am posting this exactly two months after it happened. Why does time pass so quickly when you don't want it to?!

P.S: Me and my sister also cry for like 2 hours before we get separated, so I can feel you :(

Gorgeous photos. I live about 60 miles away from this park but I don't think I've ever been. Makes me want to visit tho.

We get an annual pass to this park every year; we live about 30 minutes away. It is one of my favorite places in the world. Every season is beautiful, but fall in the mountains are incredible! Glad it made the roster for your road trip!
