I've kind of become addicted to experimenting in the kitchen. I love thinking about creative ways to use items and make them into something even more interesting. Today I wanted to share my latest experiment. This was inspired by all of the Summer Fairs going on around the world, and nothing says Summer in America like deep-fried... well, anything. So I decided to deep fry some SNICKERS® Ice Cream Bars from walmart. This would be such a fun dessert to serve at a bbq or outdoor party with friends under some twinkle lights. It'd be like bringing the State Fair home to you.

To start, you will need a frying pan, oil, and a candy thermometer. Get your oil heating up over the stove very slowly. If you heat it up too quickly then it will instantly melt your snickers bar rather than deep frying it. Keep the thermometer in the oil and when it reaches 350°, then it's ready for frying. Be sure to keep it at that temperature.

Ingredients

SNICKERS® Ice Cream Bars- frozen solid
1 cup flour
1 tbsp cinnamon
1 tsp vanilla
2 egg whites

In a bowl, mix your flour and cinnamon then set aside. In another bowl, whip up your egg whites until fluffy and add in the vanilla. Remove your SNICKERS® Ice Cream Bars from their packaging, then coat them, one at a time, in the egg. Once it's coated, dip it in the flour mixture and cover completely. Repeat these two steps 2-3 times until you have a nice batter built up around your ice cream bars.

using a fork or tongs, place the bar into the oil. Let it fry on one side for 10-15 seconds and then turn over for another 5-10 seconds. Remove promptly with the tongs or fork and place on a paper towel. Serve with a sprinkle of cinnamon and enjoy immediately!

This recipe is perfect for your next Summer gathering. Just make sure your guests are eating them immediately as the ice cream will melt quickly once it has been heated up. It is such a fun and unique treat that is sure to impress!
