Birthday Day

I have entered the last of my mid-twenties... I don't know how I feel about that. But my birthday came and went (a week or so ago) without a heart attack or mid-life crisis, so I guess I have still got a few years in me.
My birthday was spent with my family eating dinner at cheesecake factory, exploring a local harbor, and spending some alone time painting my nails and listening to records. It wasn't anything spectacular, but I enjoyed it. I don't like my birthday to be a big deal, anyways. So I was perfectly content and had a great time.

Do you like celebrating your birthday or do you prefer to keep it simple (or ignore it all together)?

My 40th is coming up in a few months - I thought it would be more anxiety-ridden than it has been. I've decided to treat myself to a photography sabbatical to Tennessee, completely on my own.
And just wait, girl - the 30s are some of the best years of your life!

Happy belated birthday! :) Sounds like a perfect way to celebrate and is similar to how I celebrated mine. Good food and some good company.

A belated Happy Birthday to you! Sounds like you had a perfect celebration. I like to keep my birthday a secret (especially from work colleagues)... it's weird but for me, it kind of feels more special when I am the only one who knows about it. Of course with friends and family, I shout it from the rooftops!

I usually don't celebrate my birthdays in a big way, it only happened once, it was my fiancé's as well and we invited all of our friends to a costume party, it was great ! Last year, I only went to the cinema with my mom, my fiancé and my godson to see Frozen, and spent the rest of the day watching Jane Austen films, and it was just as great ! So either way works for me, but like you I don't like to be the centre of attention...

It seems like you had a great time, and happy belated birthday !

I really love the photo of all the sailboats docked in the water. Gorgeous capture!
