Gypsy Soul

"Someone who possesses a 'gypsy soul' is always in need of change or adventure. A gypsy soul seeks the next best thing in any life situation. They can be very passionate and often inspired by different ideas, attitudes, and experiences. Their sense of identity isn't always sure what they want out of life, but they are determined to find it."

I love moving, traveling, exploring, and changing my scenery; it's something I've done often. So when the opportunity to move to DC presented itself... I couldn't really say no. I love Utah, it will always be my home, it will always be where I come back to. But being young, single, and not having any serious ties here- made me realize that I need to take this opportunity to move, again. Because. I. Can.

I may never get a chance like this again- a chance to set off somewhere new, unexpectedly. It's something I have loved about my single life, so I'm going to take it. There's something exciting about changing your scenery with a big move and something absolutely terrifying. I would be lying if I said I wasn't nervous, because I absolutely am. But I've never been one to back down from opportunities like this.

So... my gypsy soul is taking over, once again, and I'm off; off to find a new adventure, explore a new world, meet new people, and experience new things... and it's exactly what I want. No worries, I will always be found in blogland... But now, in about a month, my physical home will be on the East Coast... in DC. Honestly, I would never have expected to move there, but if I had expected it, then it wouldn't be so exciting. Let me know if you live nearby, I will need some friends and connections in the blog, makeup, and styling world!

"gypsy soul" I like that. That's totally how I am. I feel so restless having been in the same place for so long I want to get out and see the world! That's why traveling is my favorite thing ever. And Ethan is completely content with the same things over and over so he doesn't understand haha

Good for you for taking a leap and doing what you want! I am in North Carolina so a few hours away from DC but at least on the same coast. I moved was Washington State to NC in July so I know how it feels to move across the country. Good luck!

This is so fantastic. I did the same thing about 7 months ago when I up and moved to LA just because I could. Everyone thought I was crazy, but I've never been happier. My grandma always said, "We've got that gypsy blood"...it couldn't be more true for me.

I wish you the best of luck in DC, I'm sure you'll LOVE it. Have fun during this huge change. Embrace it. It'll be a great story to tell the kids one day.

What an awesome opportunity and experience that will be for you, Gentri! If you're driving when you move and you happen to go through Nebraska on the 80, let me know - I'd love to take you out for hot cocoa or something!

Congratulations! I'm so happy for you! That's exactly how I felt when I decided to go to the Dominican Republic for teaching! Why not, right!

Welcome to the East coast! (I'm technically in the Midwest but I'm in Eastern time so I think that still qualifies me as East coast ;) )

Excited for this adventure for you, lady. I am single and I wish I could go move somewhere and travel and live out dreams cause I think the years of singleness are some of the best times to do that. But it just isn't in the plan for me right now. I know this will be a time of your life that you'll remember forever and cherish :)

Wow that's so exciting! DC is so beautiful. I live down in Florida but I would check lovetaza because her and her family used to live in DC for some time before they moved over to NYC. I know she's got a bunch of awesome food places and such on her blog :). I'm happy for you and excited to see your blog posts from your new adventure!

How wonderful! I definitely have a gypsy soul as well, so this strongly resonated with me. What a scenic photo and lovely writing to accompany it. DC is a vibrant town, and I'm sure it will be full of adventure for you. Way to seize each opportunity while you can!

Oh, and I forgot to mention that my group got 100% on the presentation where I brought up some points you made in your online dating post. I made sure to credit you, of course!

Have a wonderful week!
