Our fifth day was spent at Magic Kingdom, my favorite! This was definitely a "character day". We saw as many characters as we could in the morning (mostly while my nephew was with my sister picking up my BIL, since my nephew wasn't a huge fan of the princesses).
Tangled is my favorite movie, so I was excited to see Rapunzel.
The girls were so star struck.
One of my favorites.
After meeting Peter Pan, we headed to the front of the castle to watch him perform with a bunch of other awesome characters in Dream Along With Mickey, my old stomping grounds. ;)
If you're going to Disney World, be sure to watch this show! It's the best, and you can just imagine me up there.
Gets me every time.
After the show we waited in line for about an hour, but it was worth it, to see Tinkerbell and her sister Periwinkle.
Lydia (my younger niece) is too adorable. She had found a large leaf on the ground outside and kept it to give to Vidia (one of the wind fairies), unfortunately she wasn't there. I tried to get her to just give it to Tinkerbell or Periwinkle, but she didn't want to.
Afterwards we headed over to meet back up with my sister, nephew, and BIL. They were waiting in line to meet Merida, another character I was excited to see. While waiting in line the kids are able to shoot a bow and arrow (with help) and color "Brave" pictures.
After lunch and a couple rides we were able to meet a few special characters on our very own (the perks of still having Disney connections and friends). So we went into the car barn where we met- Mickey, Minnie, and Captain Hook (who may seem like a random character to include, but like I mentioned the other day, my nephews favorite show is Jake and the Neverland Pirates).
The kids loved every minute of it, even if my nephews face says otherwise. He was just sick of taking pictures. Also, please ignore Captain Hook's face...
After some rides, resting, and splash pad playing (for the kids) we headed to tomorrowland where Henry was able to meet Buzz Lightyear while the girls, my BIL, and myself rode Space Mountain (which they looooved).
We rode the buzz lightyear ride (of course) and laughed until our sides hurt at the Monsters Inc. Laugh Floor.
Once the sun went down we headed to the back of the park to check out the new Fantasyland! Far in the distance you can see Beasts Castle. We really wanted to eat there, but it was completely booked (which I was so sad about. they even have "the grey stuff". you know, "try the grey stuff, it's delicious! don't believe me? ask the dishes!). So we wandered over to Gueston's Tavern...
There we enjoyed pork shanks, cinnamon rolls, and La Fou's Brew. Wow. This was AMAZING (as was all the food at Gueston's Tavern)!! So good, and I loved that it was all foamy on top, just like the "drinks" they drink in the movie. It is a slushy apple flavored drink with a hint of marshmallow and topped off with a passionfruit(?) foam.
Next was Ariel's Castle. We rode the ride and of course...
Afterwards, we took advantage of the fireworks to re-ride some of our favorites without waiting- winnie the pooh, pirates of the Caribbean, and Henry's favorite "the funny ride" (small world). We spent the next hour doing whatever we wanted as the park emptied and enjoyed the lack of crowds.
