DIY Pumpkin Masque

The second recipe Sarah and I have for you- is a Pumpkin Masque!
For this Masque, you will need:
-1/2 cup plain greek yogurt
-1 cup of pumpkin
-2 tbsp of honey
The reason for the ingredients:
Pumpkin- packed with antioxidants, it will fight against free radicals which cause aging
Greek Yogurt- the glycolic acid will cause a brightening affect in your skin
honey- super hydrating

This stuff smells like cookies!! It didn't quite taste like them, but Indie, Sarah's dog, sure did like to eat it! We had to do everything in our power to keep her from licking it off of our faces. Obviously, you'll need to refrigerate the left overs, or reduce the quantity of the ingredients.

DIY Mint-Rose Toner

When Sarah contacted me about getting together with her to make "a week of beauty" posts, I was thrilled! Of course, coming up with our own beauty products sounded like a blast! But a day hanging out with Sarah was why I really said yes. She's definitely on of my favorite bloggers, and has been since I found her blog over a year ago. So we came up with 5 different beauty recipes, makeup tips, hair do's, and/ or skin care products. All so easy you can do them from home.

First up, Mint-Rose Toner.

To make this toner, you'll need:
-a small spray bottle
-witch hazel
-rose water
-mint leaves
The reason for the ingredients:
Witch Hazel- reduces oil and tightens the skin
Rose Water- rose is incredibly hydrating
Mint Leaves- cooling and soothing, helps reduce puffiness

And when I say "you will smell like roses all day", I'm not even kidding! In fact... I even just spritzed it on before I went On-Air the other day, just so I would smell good! haha! And as Sarah said, feel free to spray it on throughout the day for a Skin Pick-me-up! We always need those.

Check out Sarah's post and be sure to check back for more tips soon!

As Seen On TV

Yesterday I was super duper lucky, lucky enough to promote my esthetics business as well as the new salon I'm working at, on tv! Mady (the esthetician I'm sharing a treatment room with) and I prepped for the camera, discussing what we would say and who would say it.
Take a look!
Look at my gorgeous models! They are all such good friends and all did so well. Plus I got to hang out w them for a few hours! It was a win win.
Kelsey, Aly, Autumn, Sierra
touching up before we go on the air// hanging out back stage// almost our turn// on-air!
Kelsey and I after the show.
Oh you know, just hanging out on tv.
It was an absolute BLAAAST and I can't wait to do it again!

What pictures and video won't tell you:
I scheduled each of the models 1/2 hr apart. Giving me plenty of time to get their on-air makeup done (it's more than day to day). But that meant I had to be at my salon at 5am to do Aly's makeup. I am no good at waking up before 7 these days and was woken up at 5:40, thanks to Mady's call. In a rush I did my hair and drove as fast as I dared to the salon. I was supposed to car pool with Aly, so I called her as I was driving to the salon (bad example! I know), but she didn't answer... I called probably 10 times, still no answer. So I just moved on, and tried not to stress.

I got there at 6:20 (an hour and a half after I was supposed to fyi) and whipped out 4 makeup applications- including mine. None of which were tv ready makeup. I had to just let it go, because it was time to head to the tv studio. Just before it was time to leave, Aly made it to the salon! Whew! So off we went, to the studio.

We got there right on time and I had plenty of time to do Aly's makeup. Thank goodness for Mady who helped touch up the makeup and get the girls started when I was late. I know it wouldn't have happened without her.

After all the makeup was done and we had time to sit and think about what we were going to do, we started getting nervous. Those who have known me my whole life know that I am a shaker. When I get nervous, I shake like crazy, and this situation was no different. Hands trembling, lips quivering, I was so worried that's how I was going to be on-air! But somehow, my old performing skills (developed through years of dancing) kicked in and I was just fine! In fact, I had a blast and wanted to go again! haha!

So "next" time, I don't think I'll be as nervous, and I'll set my alarm to go off 15 times instead of 10...

Thanksgiving Style

Thanksgiving, the holiday you want to dress up... yet be comfortable. It can be hard to balance.

We always go to a movie on Thanksgiving, and movie theaters are always cold. So when getting dressed I knew I'd want to be cozy, dressed up, yet comfortable. So I grabbed my new favorite scarf (I told you to just get used to seeing it), knit tights, a knit shirt, then dressed it up with my leather skirt, my new favorite necklace, and mary jane wedges.

I'm so glad everyone (that commented) in THIS post said they liked my hair. Because it's honestly how I always do it... and it's about the laziest hairdo in the world.

Posing on the bench...
GAH! I almost fell off!
Keep posin!
I hope you all had a wonderful Thanksgiving. I just love the holidays.

P.S. I'm really bad at this style posting thing. I never list where I got everything... Sorry, I don't really feel like starting... :/ Does that make me a bad blogger?

Frozen Hot Chocolate

Who likes Hot Chocolate? Everyone. Now, who likes Frozen Hot Chocolate?? Everyone should!
I found the recipe HERE (and changed a couple things) and, HELLO, it's amazing. Pretty sure I'll be making it every Sunday...
3 tbsp granulated sugar
3 tbsp hot cocoa mix
2 tbsp unsalted butter
1/3 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips
1/3 cups white chocolate chips
12 ounces evaporated milk, divided
4 1/2 cups ice
whipped cream, to taste
mini marshmallows, to taste

combine sugar, cocoa mix, and butter in a pan over medium-low heat. stir often until just before it's melted and a smooth paste forms. add semi-sweet and white chocolate chips; stir. as chips melt, slowly stir in 1/2 cup of evaporated milk. stir until smooth. cool to room temp. combine chocolate base mixture, the remaining evaporated milk and ice in a blender (always put ice in first. I keep making that mistake). blend until smooth. pour into frosty glasses. top with whipped cream, marshmallows and chocolate chips, if desired. enjoy!
**I prefer a big dollop of Whipped Cream and Rainbow Sprinkles, plus a pretty straw!
Let me know if you try it, cause it's amazing!

LOTM- For Purple Mountain Majesties

First of all, Happy Thanksgiving to all of you American's, and a very happy day to all those who don't celebrate. :)

Us Mountain Ladies are sharing a "Mountain Haven" that we've recently visited. You may call this cheating, but I couldn't help it. If you follow me on Instagram, you know that I'm obsessed with where I live. I just had to share it as my mountain haven. It's a place that takes my breath away on a daily basis.

Being completely surrounded by mountains is the only way to live. They're protective, beautiful, and serene.   PhotobucketPhotobucket I feel so blessed to live where I do, surrounded by gorgeous mountains. As difficult as times may be, I also feel blessed to live in a great country. I'm grateful for all of those who have fought so I can live the way I do, for those who were brave enough to stand up for what they believe, so I can freely believe what I do. Thank you. Photobucket

Be sure to check out the other mountain ladies, as well as our guest mountain lady, again!
Amanda- Guest Host!

And last, but not least:
The winner of the Teaka Marie Infinity Scarf Giveaway is...

A Dessert Social

Last weekend I was able to hang out with some local bloggers and just awesome ladies at a fun little bakery. There was talk about hair, fashion, food, careers, and lots of blog talk.
Plus there was some beautiful jewelry to drool over from Stella and Dot, and treats that actually did make me drool. I loved hanging out with these ladies and just having a fun girls night out. Thanks to Aubrey and Nikki to putting it all together and to Jessi who carpooled with me. haha! I also loved hanging out with Jet and Kelsey!

If you live in SLC, definitely check out Gourmandise! Everything looked amazing, and the dessert I bought (can't remember what it was called) was delicious!
Stole the pictures from Aubrey and Nikki.

Mom's Best and The Children's Justice Center

Last week I was lucky to attend the Mom's Best Network event to raise money and awareness for The Children's Justice Center. It's a special home for those children suffering from abusive situations. A place where they can feel comfort, safety, and love. There were product reviews, giveaways, delicious food, lots of mingling, and best of all- an auction!

I invited Elsha and Deidre to tag along, and we had so much fun!
The event was held at The Manor, located in the Riverwood's Shopping Center.
There were lots of awesome products for the mother's in attendance...
Dollhouses up for auction (they represent a safe home for the children involved)...
But there were also plenty of awesome products for us without children.
These are so cool and perfect for all of us with camera phones.
A lot of the products were perfect for us fashion loving ladies.
They had live music and the food was delicious.
I also tried Creme Brulee for the first time!
I really wanted to participate in the auction, not only because it was awesome and they had a professional auctioneer, but because it was such a good cause, and I wanted to help. So I won the Park's Sportsmens Gift Certificate. It's perfect because I drew my BIL's name for Christmas, and everything he wants I can get there.
The Auctioneer. He was hilarious!
After the event, we walked outside to see them testing the lights for the lighting event. Sneak Peek! So awesome.
It was so much fun and I truly hope that the event made a big difference for all of the children who need their lives changed.

All of the beautiful photos (besides the last one, which I stole from Elsha) are c/o Heather Telford Photography. The event was also hosted by Edge Homes.

and for your viewing pleasure, please enjoy this video of the auctioneer.
