Oregon Pt. 2

After exploring the cliffs and small town antique shops, we headed to the beach. It's not exactly swimming water, but just to be on the beach, walking in the sand, made my heart so happy.

I was entranced by how every time I stepped a halo formed around my feet.

And my dad found some sea weed that he used for a whip.

Next, it was off to the Tillamook Factory. We enjoyed lunch and of course, ice cream!

My dad was really wanting to see these blow holes he'd heard about, so next we headed south. It was a few hours until high tide, so we enjoyed the view and some more shops... and watching the whales play in the ocean.

best pic I could get.

Watching the tide come in was so fun. I'd forgotten what a wondrous sound the waves crashing on the rocks is. I could have listened for hours.

It was finally high tide, time for the show to start... So we drove over to where the blow holes were supposed to be... so excited... and this was as good as it got. Oh well. haha! Still fun.

I just love this sign. They're all over. I don't think that stick figure stands a chance.

To be continued...

You know, in my 23 odd years in Oregon I don't think I have ever seen those blow holes haha I don't even know if I knew they exsisted! And that sign is great :)

Aww I'm so sad you're discontinuing 7 Questions! I totally understand and get it completely, but I'll the blog hopping : (

The Oregon coast is beautiful. We don't have beaches like that here! haha That path you found really opened up the beauty of it all even more. I'm glad you decided to follow it so that I could see these gorgeous pictures. I mean, of course I'm glad you got to see all of this too though ; ]

The beach is always a good place to go, no matter the weather. In fact, I think I might even prefer the overcast beach days to the sunny ones. It's so much more serene and there are fewer people : ] And how cool you went to the Tillamook factory! I love their cheese!! (And also it's cool that you saw wild whales. The closest I've come to seeing is dolphins.)

Looking forward to the rest!

Wow, the first picture made me think you were in Astoria, it reminds me so much of the Goonies! I guess it's a similar area, only a few hundred miles at most, so the scenery is similar. These photos are beautiful, my favourite thing about Portland was Powells :)
