German Pancakes with Honey Baklava Syrup for General Conference Weekend

It is Conference Weekend for the LDS Church. I always love these weekends (they happen twice a year, one in the Spring and one in the Fall). As good as the actual food I eat (recipe below) is, the spiritual food is far better. Every single talk and message has been inspired, as always. Every single song sung by the Mormon Tabernacle Choir or guest choirs is beautiful. Yup, these are definitely two of my favorite weekends of the year. :)

Conference Necessities: German Pancakes for breakfast, Conference on TV, Coloring pages to keep my hands busy so my brain can listen, and Cadbury Easter Eggs

One of my family's traditions is to have German Pancakes for breakfast on the morning of Sunday Conference. I decided you guys would enjoy the recipe, so here you go:

German Pancakes and Honey Baklava Syrup

German Pancakes- Family Recipe:

6 Eggs

1 cup Milk

1 cup Flour

pinch of Salt

2/3 cup Butter

Preheat Oven to 425

Melt Butter in 9x13 pan while the oven preheats. Mix other ingredients together. When oven has preheated poor the batter into the pan. Bake for 20 minutes.

Honey Baklava Syrup via Cheeky Kitchen:

1/2 cup Honey

1/2 cup Cream

1 Fresh Squeezed Orange

1/2 cup Sugar

2 tsp Vanilla

Mix all ingredients in sauce pan over medium heat until ingredients are well blended and syrup is very hot.

Spoon syrup over pancakes (no butter needed since you cooked it in butter) and ENJOY! :D
