I Really Shouldn't

I have a habit of picking up a book, getting sucked in, and accomplishing nothing other than finishing the book... It's a good thing I'm a fast reader, or I'd be in real trouble.
I've heard lot's of great things about this book, so I decided to pick up a copy when I was at the store the other day. Today I snuggled up with a blanket as a giant thunderstorm rolled in and dove head first into my new book. It was intense from the beginning and the loud thunder and pounding rain outside only added to the scene.

Have you read any good books lately? I'd love to have more suggestions!

Oh man, I definitely do the same thing. In fact, I usually try not to let myself read during the semester or I don't get any homework done.

Eeek, I already read all the "Mortal Instruments" books. Such a good read! You won't regret it. I hope they're gonna make a movie out of these books... Also, I'd love to read the prequels so badly.

Hm, what did I read lately? I love John Green. And Scott Westerfeld is also pretty amazing. :)

Enjoy your weekend. xoxo.

I'm the same way! I just read two super excellent books, "Keys of the Kingdom" by A.J. Cronin and "Mr Rosenblum Dreams in English" by Natasha Solomons. I sped right through them!

Yes!!! LOVE!

I'm obsessed with the Mortal Instruments. *swoon* Jace.

Such a good book. I really like how Cassandra Clare writes.

I'm going to do an author review on her coming up on my writing blog: http://thewrittenword-jlr.blogspot.com/

And you'll always find out what I'm reading on that blog :)

I love snuggling up and reading, that's what I did yesterday during the rainy day.

xo.

A girl after my own heart!! I love reading way too much and I am so excited to be out of school so that I can read. It makes it even better than hubs is still in school so I can read while he studies and does hw. :) I loved the mortal instrument books and can't wait for the next ones to come out!!

Oh yeah! The Mortal Instruments is without a doubt one of my favorites! I went back and purchased the hard back copies because I only had paperback. There is another series that are sort of post-Mortal Instruments. The Clockwork Angel book one of The Infernal Devices it has the shadowhunters but it dated back in the 1800's or something.

I'm reading a series now - The Secrets of the Immortal Nicholas Flamel - I'm on the 3rd book. I'm liking it a lot actually.

So glad you're enjoying your bookie day : )

Whoops! I meant "pre" not "post" Mortal Instruments!

Oooh, I've been meaning to try that series! So happy to hear it was good. My favorite book I've read recently, that if you haven't already checked out, you simply MUST: The Book of Lost Things. SO magical and good.

I am the same way with books. I love to read, but when I start a book I can't put it down. I have just finished up the Stephanie Plum mystery series and the all but the last TrueBlood book. I loved them all.

I'm currently reading 'Good Omens' which is written by two of my very favourite authors in the world, Terry Pratchett and Neil Gainman. I'm so excited that they got together and wrote a book for me (and other people, I guess)! I love having a good book to read, where the rest of the world just fades away.

i love that you are just like me when it comes to reading! i usually devour books within a day. sadly if it's a really amazing book it becomes an obsession - i actually called in sick to work once because i had been up reading all night and didn't go to bed until about 6am... there is just something about a well written story that is so compelling! i love the mortal instrument series - not sure where she is going with the newest installment, but i will keep reading for now. i also love the pre-series that others also mentioned, starting with Clockwork Angel. So Good! and of course Rick Riordan does great work. He does the Peter Pan and the Starcatchers series (how peter pan became peter pan) and percy jackson and such. happy reading!

That sounds like perfect weather for reading a good book! I just finished The Glass Castle by Jeannette Walls. That was a pretty great book. Now I'm reading The Help... I've heard lots of good things about it, so I'm excited to get into it. (:

I'm 9% away from finishing Divergent!! {I'm reading it on my Kindle so I'm not sure how that translates to pages. Haha}. I'm glad I'm a fast reader and I'm glad I have weekends to myself to read! :) Thanks for the book suggestion and definitely read Delirium! {I think the second book comes out soon!}

ooh Gentri you are incredibly gorgeous. i LOVE your layout by the way. Also, i'm jealous of the fact that you danced for Disney. I've always wanted to do that, but ended up choosing culinary school instead

a good book you should read is 13 reasons why. it's one of the few books i couldn't put down until it was over. it's sad, but definitely a must read.

Heaven is For Real! Do it :)

Or The Help, in which I'm in the processing of reading right now!

shopgirl said...

I have the same issues...perhaps that's why I haven't read a book for a while.

Nicole is right. The Help is wonderful. It's one of those books I finished on the same day of picking it up.

have a sweet day! Now following you.
